Giryma FCBH Program

Giriyama In Phase I of Giryama Pastors Project; Pastors from Malanga, Kilifi and Kaloleni were trained on Evangelism and discipleship skills aimed at equipping them for effective Pastoral Ministry and Church planting. The pastors were given evangelistic and follow-up materials: namely the Four Spiritual Laws and follow – up booklet: 1-6, and bicycles to help facilitate Pastors Movement in the region among others. The result is very impressive!

FAITH COMES BY HEARING

fcbh group

Introduction:
Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) is a Bible listening program of the Bible Society of Kenya based on Romans 10:17: Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. FCBH promotes the usage of the Bible in audio.

Operation Area:
The FCBH Programme covers Nairobi, Greater Kiambu, part of Rift Valley, Kisumu, Mt Elgon and Mombasa regions. At the moment plans are under way to expand to other parts of Kenya

  FCBH Vision:

To have the Bible heard in every gathering/church every week in the heart language of the people.

FCBH Purpose:

To bring God’s church together and make disciples.

Target Group:

FCBH targets listening groups (units) in churches, community groups, prisons, schools and hospitals so that all adults and children may have an opportunity to hear and discuss the Word of God in their mother tongue.

Requirements for participation:

To participate in FCBH, the FCBH facilitators/Pastors must:
. Be willing to set a day and time for listening,
· Commit their units/church(es) to listen to the New Testament (NT) in audio for at least 30 continuous minutes per week.
· Conduct Bible discussions after every listening.
·Be willing to listen until 75% of the entire NT has been heard.

Outstanding Achievements:
The program has received much support from the many communities For example, It is estimated that more than 98,000 men, women and children in Maasai ,Kikuyu, Luo, Sabot and other communities sit down at least once every week to listen to the Word of God in their respective languages. Many of them are illiterate and do not go to church on a regular basis. Many pastors have confessed that their members are growing spiritually and in the knowledge of the Bible through the program.
